I'm Making This Up As I Go...

"It has been far too long, Master Kenobi."
5 months.

5 long months since the promise of larger things took me away from my beloved fandom. Star Wars, I've missed you.

You know how it is when a new obsession takes hold? You feel like a kid, everything is new and you absolutely must learn everything you possibly can. I was that way about Star Wars once, but lately I've found that my entire allegiance is not to this fandom. I've become what I least expected: a Disney Nut, a Pirates fanatic, a writer, and a college student.

I know, I know. Shame on me. I still geek out about Star Wars, just not as much. I found last night while watching the Original Original version of ESB for the first time that I still know the films like the back of my hand and any slight change seems major. I still know the soundtracks by heart. I still read Star Wars novels. My room is still filled with Star Wars posters, action figures, autographed photos, lightsabers, and die-cast replicas.

How can it be that my heart is in another place?

The simple answer: it can't be.

That's why I'm coming back. I won't be here as much as I was before, but I'll be here. And that's good enough for me.

It's tougher than it sounds, this finding yourself.

May the Force be with you,

No one's 'entire' allegiance should ever be to Star Wars...there are too many things out there (Ex. Firefly) Besides, I've found that other items/experiences/shows often help fill in gaps with regard to Star Wars fandom (and vice versa). Good luck!
