After reading the "New Force Rising" article in the new
Insider (#87), I was very suprised about the new facts on the upcoming series,
Legacy, by John Ostrander and art by Jan Duursema.
At first I was quite excited about it. After reading, I have grown a bit skeptic. Isn't 140 years after the movies too long? I think that the EU should go ahead in the timeline taking small steps at a time. Not jumping around back and forth. But of course, we will have a new era of storytelling that has not been experianced since the NJO or the Prequels came out, with new characters, worlds and other story elements.
Here is an excerpt from a recent article on TOS:
Set more than a century after the events of Return of the Jedi, Legacy is set in a galaxy held in thrall by a new evil, shattering a resurgent Empire and seeking to destroy the last of the Jedi. Even as their power is failing, the Jedi hold onto one final hope: the last remaining heir to the Skywalker legacy.

Cade Skywalker (info from the comic excerpt from issue #0, in the same article) - Cade Skywalker is a direct descendent of Anakin and Luke Skywalker. Trained as a Jedi, he has since turned his back on his legacy.
Once apprenticed to the pirate Rav, Cade found a home among bounty hunters and smugglers-- dropping the name "Skywalker." Not even his closest associates know Cade was a Jedi.
Rav's bloody bones is a pirate symbol feared throughout the galaxy. Cade added his skull to the tattoo he recieved under the apprenticeship of Rav, and made the mark his own.
Astraal Vao (from picture in Insider #87)- a blue-skinned Twi'Lek. Perhaps a ancestor of Mission Vao from
Knights of the Old Republic?
Jariah Syn(from picture in Insider #87) - From this picture, I think he could be a smuggler, because his tattoo is similar to the one Cade Skywalker has.
The New Sith Order- From reading the article in
Insider#87, These so-called 'Sith' remind me of just a bunch of Dark Jedi Sith-wannabees.
The New Empire - Now this is something I'm pretty excited about. Maybe the Empire will regain its power? Maybe they are the galactic power in this period. If so, what happened to the Galactic Alliance?
Check out the preview issue,
Legacy #0 (schedualed for release May 17) for more info on the stories and characters.
