Darth Vader meets his former Master.

Today we celebrate...
David Prowse at his 74th birthday (born 1935)

David Prowse was born in England, United Kingdom and played Darth Vader in the Original Triology. David Prowse is a former weightlifter and because of his bodysize he was the man in the suit. Because of his British accent George Lucas choose the Amerikan James Earl Jones to do the voice of Vader. David Prowse and James Earl Jones never met in person.

Darth Vader is a Dark Lord of the Sith during the last year of the Galactic Empire. He was one of the Emperor's most trusted servants.

	FAN4YRS A Rebel's Ramblings
date Posted: Jul 01, 2009 12:08 PM Most people think of James Earl Jones when they think of Darth Vader, but Prowse had a sense about how to "act" Darth Vader. The voice and the action were what made him. So I guess you could say it took two men to make Vader.

Well, it took four (or five) different actors to do Darth Vader in the OT: David Prowse, James Earl Jones, Bob Andersson and Sebastian Shaw (and Hayden Christiensen if you count the ghost).
Bob Anderson did the stunts (the lightsaber fights) and Sebastian Shaw is the unmasked Vader/Anakin in ROTJ.

But of course, without Prowse's bodysize and movement Vader hasn't been the guy he was.
