Wicket W. Warrick, Wald, Weasel and some more
February 3, 2007

Quote of today
"He says there's a secret entrance on the other side of the ridge."
The Return of the Jedi

C-3PO translates what the ewoks Wicket and Paploo tells.

Today we celebrate...
Warwick Davis at his 37th birthday (born 1970)
Trissha Noble at her 63th birthday (born 1944)

Warwick Davis was born in Epsom, England, UK. He played the ewok Wicket W. Warrick in Return of the Jedi and Wald in The Phantom Menace. But we can also see him as Weasel at the Podrace, a grimy human on the outskirts of Mos Espa and as Yoda in the scene were Palpatine arrives at Naboo.
Warwick's career as an actor came about purely by chance. It was Warwick Davis' grandmother that heard a radio announcement calling for people less than 4 feet in height and took him to the audition for playing a ewok in Return of the Jedi.
Warwick Davis also runs Willow Personal Management, an agency for short actors in the world.

Trissha Noble was born in Australia and grew up in an artist family. She isn't just an actress but also an established singer and dancer. She played Jobal Naberrie in Revenge of the Sith and in the deleted scenes from Attack of the Clones.

Wicket W. Warrick is a young ewok living in the forests of Endor's moon. This is the ewok that meets Princess Leia Organa and bring her to the Ewok village, high in the trees.

Wald is a Rodian and one of Anakin's playmates in the Mos Espa slave quarters.

Weazel is the short humanoid next to Watto during the Podrace.

Jobal Naberrie is the mother of Padmé Admidala Naberrie. The only time we see her is at Padmé's funeral in Revenge of the Sith. But among the deleted scenes for Attack of the Clones she is in the one were Anakin get to meet Padmés familiy at Naboo.
