TV & The Future of Star Wars
I must say, I am most intrigued by the impending "Star Wars" television projects.

First off, I am extremely glad to hear that more animated shows are on the way, from Genndy Tartovsky's brilliant creative team at Cartoon Network. I believe that The Clone Wars was not only a stellar show... it contained some of the best "Star Wars" stuff I have seen on the screen since the days of Empire. I cannot wait for more.

But what may be even more tantalizing is the idea of the other television series, a planned 100 hours(!!) of live action "Star Wars". All we know officially is that Lucas will produce and likely plot the main story arcs and that it is to take place in the time period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Obviously, this is fertile ground for what everyone wants to see (i.e., an armored Vader hunting down the remaining Jedi Knights) but Lucas has warned that none of the "main characters" from the films will be featured in the show. So, does that mean no Vader? If not, then what will fans have to latch on to besides the "Star Wars" name itself? For this show to ultimately be a success I believe there is going to have to be some type of character that most people will instantly and easily identify with "Star Wars". Either that or it's going to have to have one solid storyline. I'm hoping for both.
