 | George Gets What George Wants. |
My costume has changed per George's request. I will now be wearing the Black "Post-Senate Gown" from Episode I. I am a little bummed not to be wearing the Picnic gown. But at leat I will be warm.
Here are the facts about the Parade that I know now:
- There will be 3 Queens. They will be wearing the Red Senate gown, Black Post Senate gown, and the Packing dress. Also on the Naboo float will also be Aayla Secura and Luminara.
- There will be an Endor float with Ewoks and Chewie.
- The marching band will be in between the two floats along with the 200+ Stormtroopers from all over the world. (so excited to see them march.)
- I will not be sleeping on Dec 31st. And I will be very tired on Jan 1st.
- There will be about 20 costumed charaters from the Star Wars movies including Boba Fett and Darth Maul. There will be no Expanded Universe characters marching in the parade.
- George will be the Grand Marshall and will be doing the coin toss for the football game.
I'm sure I know much more but I can't think of anything right now. If anyone has any questions please let me know and I will be happy to answer them. And if you plan on being at the parade I will be non-camera side on the float. So, make sure you are on the west side of the parade route so you can wave back at me.

Oh wow Kelsey, I'm sorry the picnic dress won't make the Rose Parade. But then again, many of us 'picnic dress fans' started to freak out about the one of a kind gown getting ruined (we knew you'd be careful, but you never know about mother nature!) So, maybe wearing the Black Ep I gown is better. And Warmer!

Kelsey,
You said: Black "Post-Senate Gown" from Episode II. Do you mean the EP I gown that you tried on? (and not EP II ).
Even though you looked lovely in the Picnic gown, the black gown looks cool too. Hope you can post some photos of them working on your makeup, and tell us what make up they use.

I updated the text. Yes, it is the Ep 1 costume.
I took about 109 pictures of the float under construction. I just have to get the ok to post them up. But as soon as that happens you will get to see them.
Also, be sure to watch for an interview with the queens on StarWars.com. I have proposed a trivia contest for the Queens to see who would win...hahaha.

George doesn't want a shipment of 20,000 chimpanzee bowties, does he? Damn it, I've got to offload these somehow.

Aw, bummer! Oh well, got to go with what El Jefe says, right? You're still one of the luckiest people on the planet.

Hi Kelsey!
It's Nancy from CIII. I am sooooo very excited on your behalf. And I'm going to be watching the parade with my nieces and saying "It's Kelsey! I know her!"

What a great idea and awesome opportunity. Congrats for getting to do this. Trisha Biggar's costumes don't get enough recognition. You look fantastic in both dresses.

WOW im very excited to hear there will be 3 queens for me to smile at. Just to let you know, along with Boba and Maul, there will be your man, Anakin Skywalker as well.... played by me No seriously I really will be anakin for the parade. Check 501st.com SL-4885. Im learning new info on the parade all the time. I wonder if I will be one of the jedi with you on the float... Id almost rather walk around because otherwise I may have to flip off at some point from standing still so long lol. Good luck with the rest of preparations, cant wait to see these beautiful floats, and my even more beautiful queens.

Too bad about the dress change. I guess George was worried about it getting ruined and you getting cold or sick. So I guess it's for the better and at least we have pics of you wearing the picnic dress.

You will look beautiful no matter which dress you wear! (I was pulling for the packing gown, but, hey, you can't have everything!)
I am not a big parade onlooker, but you can bet that I'll be watching the 2007 Rose Bowl Parade! This is going to be exciting, even from the sofa in my Star Wars room . . . er, family room! (I live in Wisconsin, so imagine how cold it's going to be here! We're making the trip to CA for C IV, so I'll have to watch you via the airwaves.) I just hope the television crews do a top-notch job covering the Star Wars angle(s) . . . er, parade.
Have a super time (and try to get at least a little sleep New Year's Eve!)
Happy Holidays.

I will miss the Picnic Dress - and I thought the black dress was too big for you? It's obviously George's call but I wonder what made him change his mind....
Kelsey - you will look like Padme Amidala no matter which gown you wear. Thanks for knowing how much we care about all this stuff!

In another era I would be in Pasadena too - listening to my son playing Star Wars music as part of the Michigan Marching Band since Michigan is now playing George's alma mater, USC in the Rose Bowl. The MMB LOVE John Williams and the music from Star Wars - they did when my son was a student - he graduated in 1999 and those who know music know the music from Star Wars has the difficulty of symphonic music. The Band were one of the first to use The Imperial March when our defense nailed opponents.

You looked great in all the dresses you tried on, and of course there is the warmth factor of wearing the black one instead. Now... I believe they're still going to keep me (aayla) in skimpy leather straps? Argh. Well, at least w/the blue skin no one will be able to tell when I've gone hypothermic!
Have a great time! I'll be watching for you!!
