Well, it's good to be back. I was on vacation, you see. Even though I returned almost two weeks ago, I have been busy. Well, anyway, I probably should be getting back to the
real
purpose of this entry.
As Obi-Wan Kenobi once said, "So what I told you was true, from a certain point of view." Hmmm, "from a certain point of view." That really made me think. First, let's examine the OT. The rebels are the good guys, right? They disagree with the current regime, so they try to seperate from it and take this regime down. Rewind (or is it fast forward?) to the PT. We have the Separatists, who are
definetly
on the wrong side. They are evil. What did they do again? Oh, yeah. They disagreed with the current regime, so they seperate from it, and try to take said regime down. Hmmmm. So when the Rebels do it, it is called "freedom fighting", but when the Seperatists do it, it is called "terrorism". Now I hate terrorism and all who are involved with those evil acts. Now, I myself can come up with some arguments for what I just said, so I will write what I think the best arguments are, just to save you some effort. It is all in your
intention
. The CIS did what they did with an evil, sinister purpose. Their main plan was to take over the galaxy, whereas the Rebels main purpose was to restore peace, justice, and democracy to an evil ridden galaxy. That was the in-universe explanation. The film-makers explanation would be, "who would want the protagonists to be evil, or have evil intentions?" The Rebels were fighting evil. They couldn't be evil if they were trying to fight evil. The moral is "stand up against the man." The ONLY reason that the Rebels are good and the Seps are bad is this: The rebels, like the Old Republic, were trying to preserve/bring back democracy. The Empire/ Seps., were trying to preserve/create a reign of evil. Democracy good, evil bad. So it's all in your intentions.
