This is another "Did ya notice..."

Did ya notice how in the throughout the saga, mostly in the original trilogy, it only takes one hit to bring down a Stormtrooper? They wear all of that armor, yet the bolt always seems to go straight through it. Even the weakest hold out pistol will penetrate their "protection". I have trouble believing that every single time that they are hit, the bolt strikes between armor plates. And no matter where they are hit (although it is almost always in the gut), the shot is fatal, or at least enough to render them unconscience. When Leia is hit at the Endor bunker, she is clearly hit in the arm, yet she acts as though it is just an annoyance, like a paper cut. And she isn't wearing any armor!
