Back to the Future
Hello again, fellow seekers of the Force. Wow, time has gotten away from me. It seems like yesterday that I was writing my last entry, and here it is, almost 5 months later. Sadly, my hectic work schedule has prevented me from writing often. Luckily, I have today off. We have witnessed a lot of changes to the Star Wars universe; much more than was predicted after ROTS. Authors, producers, and artists are quickly filling in all of the timeline holes. This has led me into thought about what's next. Where will we go after every minute of the clone wars is filled and the twenty years between ROTS and ANH is no longer empty. This has already been glimpsed with KOTOR(2) and the upcoming SW: The Old Republic MMO. So it seems that we will eventually keep going further into the past and future. Will this eventually lead to the forgetting of the original trilogy? Will we be so far ahead or behind that those events seem irrelevant? I hope not. Thankfully, the establishment of the Battle of Yavin as a time reference (i.e. 20 bby was ROTS). But we need to remember to keep the focus on the movie saga while we expand. I don't mean to say that expanding ahead is bad, but we need to remember Luke and Leia, if not for us, for the mainstream Star Wars fans who have only seen the movies.
