Episode III - The End Of The Sith {II/II}
Unlike Palpatine, QuiGon did not offer unlimited power. He did not promise the dark secrets of the Sith, nor the insight into the nature of immortality. What QuiGon did offer, was a moment of perspective. A moment of thought. A moment of peace.

Anakin would not fail the order that had been his kin for almost all his life. He would not fail the teachings of ObiWan. He would not fail Padme's trust. He would not fail himself.

Anakin ignited his blade once again n' struck. His will was determined and it was his heart that guided his blade. With a single swipe, he had beheaded the last of the Sith.

He had ended it, once and for all . . .

Without a moments delay, he went to the aid of the injured Jedi Master. Mace Windu gazed at Anakin and then the headless corpse of his enemy and looked almost as shocked as he did grateful.

Anakin reached for Mace's his left hand and the Jedi Master accepted. Mace was too weak to say it, but Anakin felt his gratitude through the force. Anakin had accomplished what he was born to do. He had fulfilled his destiny.

Almost a week after that fateful night, the council beckoned him into their chambers. Anakin was unsure of what to expect, but even so, he felt unprepared for what the council offered.

Master Kenobi was the one to tell him of the intentions of the council and offered him the choice. On one hand, Anakin was offered a seat in the council as a Jedi Master, and on the other, he was told that the council would grant him an expulsion from the order. The Jedi Masters all sensed what Skywalker would chose, and they all seemed almost disappointed.

At the temple docks where Anakin had first told Mace the truth about Chancellor Palpatine, he now stood gazing at the temple, knowing that this the last time he would see it. Anakin felt weak, almost unsure, but then a hand glided over his shoulder and reminded him why he was leaving. He looked down to his wife's abdomen and knew that no harm would ever come upon them again.

ObiWan held his former padawan's lightsaber in his hand and smiled, "Perhaps your son will need this in the future Anakin". Padme looked at ObiWan with murderous eyes but before she could speak, ObiWan laughed.

Anakin felt himself unable to speak as a tear swelled in his eyes. He prepared himself to finally say goodbye and saw Master QuiGon standing by ObiWan's side, smiling at him. Anakin smiled as the tear slipped from his eye and heard his Masters . . .

Remember Anakin, the force will be with you, always . . .
