I Think We Took a Wrong Turn
My blogs will probably end up falling into either one of two categories: Complex and thoughtful, or simple and observational.

This is one of the latter.

Writing up my first blog yesterday, I remembered something that struck deeply within me.

As I mentioned, my family always had the VHS tapes of Star Wars, the THX Remastered Box set. That's where I always saw them, until the special editions came out and I saw those in theaters, each only once. My parents then refused to buy the Special Editions on tape because "We already had Star Wars" So I ended up always watching those oridinal editions.

Until the day the OT came out on DVD. While watching a New Hope, Luke and Leia were rushing down the hallways of the Death Star, only to be halted by a giant chasm with no bridge. For my entire life, the next line was always: "I think we took a wrong (took a wrong) turn turn turn." Due to the echo. Every single time that came up, I said the words with the movie. And every time I get lost anywhere, that's always the first thing out of my mouth.

But the DVD certainly shook me up. That echo that is engraved in my memory was almost completely removed from the new version. And it threw me for a loop.

Out of everything on the DVD, that stood out the most.

I just thought I'd share that odd little tidbit with you all. I know that other must ahve noticed, but was anyone else as shocked as I was? I'd been so accustomed to hearing that echo, because that's the only way I'd ever heard it. And it suddenly was gone...
