Fear leads to the Dark Side
"Fear is the path to the Dark Side," Yoda said

One thing that always irked me about that scene was the preceding lines (from memory):

"Your thoughts dwell on your mother."

"I miss her."

"Afraid of losing her, hmm?"

It always seemed like Yoda was just making a stretch to make Anakin look dangerous. It was like he was trying to fabricate negativity.

But then I realized, that it's Yoda forseeing what ultimately ends up being the real tradgic flaw of Anakin. As I wrote in another blog, it's Anakin's inability to let go of people he loves that dooms him, and Yoda tries to impress the Jedi teachings on the matter, to let go, in Episode III.

But I hadn't realized just how far back Yoda's sensing of this danger went.
Fear of loss is extremely dangerous for a Jedi, and is Anakin's personal downfall, and from the begining Yoda was cautious of it. It was why he doubted Anakin, and he was right.
