What does this have to do with anything?
Movies pump videogame sales ('Star Wars,' 'Cars' score with gamers)

What is the point of this article? I don't understand why it exists, let alone is on Starwars.com.

All it says is "the video game is doing well and getting better, and movie licenses are often turned into video games."

That's it. "Star Wars video games exist" is about the only tenuous link that relates this article to anything. But it doesn't matter, because this is a stupid article anyways. The author clearly read some statistics but had no substantial knowledge of the game industry, or at least didn't feel like giving any.

No mention of why the previous year was a bit dull. There was anticipation of next gen consoles, leading people to hold back on purchases of games and consoles.

No mention that movie based games are universally feared because of their undeniable tendency to be terrible, despite the sales, whatever they may be. People will always buy games based on properties they enjoy, even if the games are bad. That is why companies continue to make movie games, often poorly.

There was nothing insightful in the article. There were only some statistics, which admitedly would be interesting information for someone who cares (not most starwars.com readers, I imagine), or if the article had some sort of competent commentary.

In any case, I don't understand why this is is on Starwars.com.

End rant.
