Posiedon Review
The new Warner Bros. film "Posiedon" is a remake of the 1970s disaster film, "The Posiedon Adventure."

The film stars Josh Lucas, Kurt Russell, Emmy Rossum, and Richard Dreyfuss as a group of passengers abord a luxury liner called the Posiedon on New Years Eve.

As a ship full of thousands celebrates the new year a 50 foot rogue wave strikes the vessel causing it to turn over and drown many of the passengers.

Lucas' character Dylan decides he isn't going to wait for someone to rescue him and decides to escape the ship with others including Dreyfuss and Russell who follow him.

After the group plans their escape, they are met with unimaginable obsticles including flash fires, floods, and dead bodies everywhere.

The numbers in the group begin to thin out. Do they get rescued in time and more importantly can they escape?

The film has great special effects, courtesy of Industrial Light and Magic, and a great story, but it is just another typical Hollywood remake of a film that was popular over 30 years ago.

Don't be surprised if "The Towering Inferno" is next on the remake list.

"Posiedon" is rated PG-13 for violence, and graphic images of death and gore.

My Rating: Two and a half Lightsabers.
