The Choosen one

I have seen a few blogs regarding this topic, and a few comments in my blogs over this topic so I decided I would share my view on the matter.

Was Anakin the choosen one? Or was it Luke?
I think Anakin was the choosen one; there is no doubt that he wasn't. It even says so in one of the documentaries on the ROTS DVD.

My Theory
In my opinion Luke couldn't have been the choosen one, he didn't defeat any sith in the Saga. Notice I said the saga, which does not include anything in the EU. Anakin defeated three...Dooku, Sidious, and Vader. Yes he defeated Vader.

Well how did he defeat Vader?
In the end of ROTJ Anakin redeems himself by killing the emperor and tell Luke that he was right, there was still good in him. Anakin realized in ROTS how much power the sith really had, well in ROTJ he trades in all of the power to save the life of his son. A son he barely knew. Sure Vader knew who his son was and he knew his name, who his mother was, who is sister was, but Vader knew nothing about Luke. Besides the fact he wanted to be a Jedi.

When Vader killed the emperor he also killed himself. Right there he defeated the last two remaining sith of the saga.

Clearing up the Prophecy
The choosen one was said to defeat the sith and bring balance to the force...and that he did. Killed the remaining to sith...and after that he was able to find a place for himself with the Jedi once again (Referring to the celebration scene of ROTS)

Well that's it for this blog...not too good of one, but I really wanted to clear up the confusion of the Choosen one, and that it was Anakin.

Anakin was The Chosen One. Even though he went to the Dark Side of the Force, he was still The Chosen One. George Lucas said in the documentry on the Star Wars Episode III DVD that it was his destiny to become Darth Vader. He fulfilled his destiny as The Chosen One Of The Jedi when he turned back to the light side and destroyed Darth Sidious, even though it meant his son had to be there was the only reason he turned back to the Light Side Of The Force. I bet he was thinking about all the lies Darth Sidious told him about he killed his wife and unborn child, and his child, which were twins Luke and Leia, were still alive. I bet he was thinking of Padme at that point.

Of course Anakin was the chosen one. My friend (who can be extremely stubborn, even if he doesn't have much reason to think certain ways), insisted that Luke was the shosen one. I kept showing him blogs that pointed to Anakin being the chosen one, and trying to tell him how Anakin brought balance, not Luke. Luke had helped, and so had many others. Does this mean they are also the chosen ones? No, of course not. Anyway, he finally agreed with me after reading a blog I sent him via email, this was a few months ago. I can't see any doubt that Anakin was the chosen one. I agree with you both. Nice blog.

date Posted: Jan 02, 2006 11:42 PM duh anakin was the chosen one. come on we know dat luke could not destroy darth vader and sidious so anakin came and killed vader adn sidious. vader and anakin are 2 different people two different personalities and anakin destroyed him
