With my Hyperspace subscription coming to an end, I have decided to write one last true blog entry.
My dad had introduced me to the Star Wars Saga when I was six years old, almost 9 years ago. Ever since then I have been a major Star Wars fan, but had never had a friend to share my obsession with. It was for my 13th Birthday that I begged my parents to buy me a subscription to Hyperspace. I was so excited; I could finally have a place to discuss Star Wars!
Now I came to the blogs thinking I knew just about everything about Star Wars, and I was proven wrong quick.
I learned about the Expanded Universe! I had never though much about Star Wars existing after the saga, but reading reviews of books here on the blogs, or an article about an upcoming one, I was intrigued.
Seeing the EU for the first time encouraged me to give it a try.
This was when I went out and checked out
Labyrinth of Evil from my Library, and I loved it! It felt as though by reading the book it was easier to understand the characters when I saw them on screen.
Hyperspace had truly brought the wonder of the EU into my life.
At this time I wanted to know even more, I ventured out into the EU world and began to read
Yoda: Dark Rendezvous,
Revenge of the Sith Novel, and then
Dark Lord.
And Then, I took the largest dive I could make, I began reading the New Jedi Order.
It gave me a whole new insight on Luke Skywalker and even Leia. I began to see Han in a new way. He wasn't the same sarcastic smuggler I saw in the Original Trilogy; he was now a proud father.
Now I am still making my way through the New Jedi Order experiencing each installment at a time.
If there is anything Hyperspace has done for me, it was showing me that the EU was important, and it really did matter.
