When you finally meet the right woman, you're probably not walking around in your Darth Vader costume much, playing with your light saber, or playing hours and hours of KOTOR. With ROTS, it was time to use the Force and seduce my girlfriend to the darkside... below is my tale turning her into a fan.
Though I'm only in my 20s, I've been a Star Wars fan for a long time, and let me tell you - it's about as big a winner with the ladies as Star Trek, Dungeons and Dragons, or even Magic the Gathering. Of course, as soon as you realize these topics are women repellent, you quickly find new interests. Survival instincts kick in, and you transform yourself into the best woman magnet you can. Low and behold you do so, find the perfect woman for you, and create a loving relationship you wouldn't trade for anything in the world... and then it happens: ROTS!
After casually watching Dr Phil, Golden Girls, and for the love of Yoda -- Britney: Chaotic -- convicing her to go see ROTS isn't even a discussion. The first viewing is great fun, and we both have a good time. And then in a Sidious-like way, I slipped little tidbits of EU plot to her about Anakin, Padme, Obi-wan, and other Jedi. The next day we watch Episode 1,2, and then 4-6 all the while adding in additional plot points from EU. The next week, we go back for another viewing. The feedback I got was how the additional information I provided really helped her get into the movies. Without it, she may not have wanted to really watch them - but now she was very interested in what happened to the characters before/after the movies.
So when the Star Wars Insider comes in the mail now, she hands them to me with a smile of genuine common interest. We also play the Episode 3 game for XBOX together and the Star Wars lego game. The lego game provides more hours of fun as you can play cooperative through boards, where as the Ep3 game has only 4 or 5 cooperative levels and then it's all versus mode. However, the versus mode is very well done, and the combinations aren't too hard to figure out. This makes for a lot more fun than something like the new Mortal Kombats, where a novice has 0 chance against an advanced player.
Star Wars is one of those things you have to be comfortable in your relationship to get in to. Just like the first time you break wind in front of her, can't be too soon or she'll think you're gross, but after a while - it's just funny
