This is REALLY silly, I know, but I just had to share it with you wonderful bloggers! See...there's something that has always crossed my mind every time I watch TPM.

Qui-Gon and Shmi...I always catch a little spark between them, or at least the hint of a spark.

He just gives her these looks that remind me of the way my dad looks at my mom! I can't explain it, except that I just get the feeling that Qui-Gon is a little attracted to her.

You know the chance cube bit with Watto? What was the cube truly destined to land on if Qui-Gon hadn't used the Force? Would it have been Shmi that was freed instead of little Ani? Qui-Gon might have had a little sump'n sump'n to deal with later...

I read the novel (a long time ago in a suburb far, far away...) and I don't recall anything like this being addressed. All evidence points to their relationship as being anything but romantic. I KNOW they didn't have a thing for each other (y'all don't need to convince me otherwise or anything) , but I just can't help thinking this little thought! It creeps into my crazy mind every time I see those scenes, to the point where I laugh out loud at myself.

So silly of me...but I have to wonder, has anyone else thought this? Do tell!
