I'm thinking about this because I had a dream last night about Samuel L. Jackson. No, not the Samuel L. with the purple lightsaber and tough action roles...my turtle. I don't really know why I named my little turtle Samuel L. Jackson, maybe it was because my roommates and I had been talking about him all weekend and had just gone to see
Snakes on a Plane. I got him with my brother this summer and we thought Samuel L. (with the "L" paying tribute to his teenage mutant ninja relatives by standing for "Leonardo") was a good name for the little guy.
Anyway, the point. I had a dream about Sammy but can't remember a thing! I just know he was there. (I wanted to dream about Han, to get into the spirit of
Han week, but that didn't happen...)
I think Luke might have had a dream of his own, like his father. Luke's dream was not about people he loved dying, though, it was about Dagobah. Remember when he first gets there? After Artoo gets all spit up he says:
"If you're saying coming here was a bad idea, I'm beginning to agree with you. Oh, Artoo, what are we doing here? It's like...something out of a dream, or, I don't know."
Something out of a
dream, eh Luke?
Later, he tells Artoo, "Still...there's something familiar about this place."
Do you think Luke had a dream about Dagobah? Was the Force giving him dreams about the planet? Maybe Luke is like me (I hardly ever remember details about my dreams) and just gets a strange feeling when he experiences his dream planet in real life. If he did dream about Dagobah...was it the Force? If it was the Force...then why? Was it just a vision of a potential future event like the dreams were for Anakin?
Sorry if this has been blogged about before. Please let me know what you think!!!!!
Forcefully,
JP
