Really? I figured everybody knew. The experience seems to have helped him greatly in the delivery of everyone's favorite line: "No, it's because I'm so in love with you."

Let us not forget the utterly majestic, "I wish that I could just wish away my feelings". No wonder Hayden turns away from the camera when he says it. Surely someone looking at the script could have said, "Uh, George, maybe you should take another look at this scene." On the other hand, perhaps it injects some realism into the fantasy. I'm sure that lots of folk have had considerably less smooth (or more un-smooth) moments than that in real life.

Ah, yes. Wishy wishy. I remember sitting in the theatre at midnight thinking, "Oooh! This speech is gonna be good! Take notes, boys..." Then came that line. Ouch. But, would you tell George it was no good?

One of my favorite lines ever, based solely on delivery: "Squad leaders, we've picked up a new group of signals. Enemy fighters, coming your way."

Brilliant. Does that control officer have a name? An action figure? I must find out.

Can't forget about Mon Mothma's "Many Bothans died" sob story either.

That "Squad leaders..." line is well delivered, isn't it? The guy doesn't try to overplay it; that's the key, I think. Same with the "Standby Ion Control...fire" lady. Round of applause for the bit players!

I was talking from memory before, but I just rewatched that part of the film. I guess I never really thought about his performance before. You can see the same look on the face of the Rebel squad leader on the Tantive IV, and he doesn't even have any lines. I've always liked that guy for some reason.
