Epi-sewed III: Revenge of the Flannel
Don't you hate it when real life gets in the way of fun? I've been feeling much like our heroes caught in the garbage masher as of late. Stay on top of it! One voice in my head says. I'm trying! Another cries helplessly. Snarkiness aside;), I am not sure if I can stay on top of it. I'm being crushed by this terrible, terrible thing called a Senior Thesis.

*sigh* I've already tried it; it's magnetically sealed...:(

Anyway, all this to say that my costuming is not going as intended. I had big plans, but simply could not anticipate the stress this semester would bring. Last weekend, however, I took a couple hours to do something for myself. I had a rough week and just needed to sew my troubles away. Was I a good little Jedi, taking that time to work on my latest Leia costume project? No, I chose the quick and easy path. See, I had ventured out to the suburbs the day before to escape the smog and just happened to stop in my favorite fabric store. There, I found some flannel. But not just any flannel-- LEIA flannel. It was expensive fabric and a little too pink for my taste, but I purchased a couple yards anyway. Instead of working on the projects for C4 and risking frustration and disappointment, I did something I knew I would not dishearten me: I made pajama pants! Last time I was feeling inadequate as a seamstress, I made the pillow in that picture. (Squares and straight lines make me feel better about myself.)

For those that care, my sewing droid, Em, is doing well. She's really mad at me right now because the thread I made her use last week was no good. She didn't much enjoy sewing those drawstrings either, but she did a'ight.

I still have some costumes in the works, so I should have at least a couple things for C4. It breaks my heart, but Bespin Leia for C4 is simply not going to happen.:_| Someday...

I do know that a certain amazingly talented seamstress is working on this project, however, and judging by her past works of art, this one is sure to be absolutely gorgeous.

Now go check out what's going on for LEIA WEEK! Let's show my girl some love!:x

Forcefully,
JP
