"Truly Wonderful The Mind of a Child Is"
Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace. All titles easy for us to say but imagine a 3 year old trying to say which SW movie he wants to watch.

This past April my grandson, Youngling Ezequiel, and family moved about 3 hours away from me. Some of my previous entries on this blog describe me and my SW side kick. He enjoys the SW movies. He was the only person in my home who would sit and watch the movies with me, listen to the soundstracks and I had a heck of a time hiding my collection from him.

His Mom tells me she had to buy all six movies shortly after they moved because he kept asking for Star Wars. Just the other day she was telling me his names for each movie. It's the only way she knows which movie he wants to watch.

The Phantom Menace to him is "I wanna watch poo doo". Some would say he's not too far from the truth with his title on this one. His other titles are:

AOTC is "Jedi Poo Doo"
ROTS is "Anakin"
ANH is "A Piece of Junk"
ESB is "Luke"
ROTJ is "Chewie pull me up"

Although he may be far away from me now and I don't get to see him much...it's good to know that his love of Star Wars hasn't waned.

MTFBWU ALL

BTW, two months ago I was "blessed" with another grandchild. Another boy. Jonsomethingortheother. Gone are the days where parents decided on names that made sense for their kids. They have told me the name 10 times but it doesn't stick. Anyway, he makes number 13.

Good morning!

My youngest Apprentice has been begging me to watch the movies - specifically RoTS -lately too. I want to watch the movies in order with him again but, alas, finding the time is very difficult this time of year!

Anyway....

The Phantom Menace to him is "I wanna watch poo doo". Some would say he's not too far from the truth with his title on this one
Although TPM is low on my list of favorites, it had to be. We had to meet Anakin at some point.... after all, he wasn't always the DV I know and love! ]:)
And, it introduced us to the idea of the Sith in showing us Darth Maul (who, I admit, I found intriguingly handsome as well).

Great blog, JL! :D

Catch you l8r!

Truly wonderful, indeed! :D

I wrote down a few things my youngest had "interpreted" when he first began watching the Saga (he was 3 at the time):

"Wanna buy some breath sticks?"
Millennium Falcon = Million Falcom
Lightsabers = Lifesavers
Obi-Wan after using the blaster to kill Grievous: "So unsilverized"

Ahhh...memories!

Jonsomethingortheother. Sounds like he'll be having fun trying to spell that one ;) Don't think I've seen amy pencils or kiddie license plates with that one :p

My young apprentice's interpretation of C3PO's speech:

Love his revised titles!! Hilarious, Lily! :^O

I wanna watch poo doo! I don't believe I'll think of TPM any other way ever again!

Congrats on the new addition to the family!! :x

It's all a bunch of Bantha Poo Doo... LMAO...

My son was three with TESB came out... we had a hatch-back car, and if he wanted to crawl out the back he'd say "Open the top hatch!"

I've arrived at my younglings' house and right away they want to lightsaber fight and see my C-IV pictures... the Force is with them,....

13 grandkids.... oh my... two are enough for me...

My friend's little boy describes ESB as "the one where Han Solo gets caught" and ROTJ as "the one where they rescue Han Solo." And TPM is "the real Star Wars." He really doesn't care about II-IV.

Priceless!!!

Some would say he's not too far from the truth with his title on this one :) I have said this is my least favorite of all the movies. That is too funny that he calls it that! Maybe it was made with that age group in mind?

Yeah, the only thing my grandson imitates is SpongeBob. I will turn him, though. He will be a powerful ally!;) If not him, then his sister! ]:)

13!! Wow! I'll probably be blessed with one more....since my daughter is an only child. But for now, I'm with Granny--two are plenty for now!

Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is. Uncluttered.

In younger days my son liked to watch "Star Wash",
and he also liked "Jurassic Pork".

And I thing "poo doo" is a great name for TPM. :p

jl, CONGRATULATIONS on # 13 . . . Jonsomethingortheother! How exciting (whether his name makes sense or not! ;))

I love the names your grandson chose for the movies. :D They definitely brought a smile to my face. Truly incredible the mind of a child is! (no matter how old! ;))

You'll just have to watch the movies together - hooked up via telephone. You can talk to each other about the films as you watch together, even from three hours away! (better get unlimited long distance!)

That is both hysterical and adorable, Jedilily!

"Wanna buy some breath sticks?"
Millennium Falcon = Million Falcom
Lightsabers = Lifesavers
Obi-Wan after using the blaster to kill Grievous: "So unsilverized"
"Hello, I am C3PO, Human Psychotic Relations"

:^O! I said either "lightsavers" or "lifesabers" when I was little - I can't remember which! I think it was the former because my logic was they are made of light and they save you or something. Hmmm - the Force has given me an idea. . . .

Wow...that's delightfully funny! :) But I just figured "Jedi poo doo" was a line from--well, it is in AOTC, but...maybe he was just quoting that because of Sebulba saying 'poodoo!' Just a thought. I haven't watched any of the movies in over a month....but when I do watch, I have a craving for TPM, oddly enough. I don't know why. But that's...pretty cool. Congrats on yet another grandpadawan, too! MTFBWY! :)
