Years Matter Not (Gone Crazy...Be Back Soon)

From Dark Shadows to Twilight
When I was a teenager I would rush home from High School to see a soap opera...Dark Shadows. Set in Gothic times...a story of obsession and unrequited love. What I remember most was the vampire Barnabas, whose love, Josette, committed suicide due to another woman using black magic to steal Barnabas from her. And there were monsters and werewolves weaved in the storyline along with time travel back and forth. I found it refreshing compared to the usual soaps of the day that I had grown up watching with my family.

You can imagine back in the 60's this soap was quite unusual for its time, but it did have a great following and to this day DVDs of Dark Shadows can still be still be purchased.

Now that you know of my interest from eons ago in vampires, it shouldn't come as a shock that Twilight is right up my alley. Why...

I 'm a sucker for a good true love story and the fact that vampires and werewolves are entwined in the Twilight Saga makes it even more interesting.

Reading The Twilight Saga has brought back the same indescribable feelings I felt when I first saw Anakin and Padme fall in love in AOTC. I needed to know more and have more of their love story right away and could barely wait for ROTS to debut just so I could keep the feelings going even though I knew their love was a mistake, but oh how I wished it could have been different.

Now that I've read the Twilight Saga with the love story between Edward and Bella, it seems their love was "perfect" therefore I got more of what I was looking for in Twilight than what I got when I was obsessing over Anakin & Padme.

Unlike the expected tragic love story between our Star Wars lovers, the Twilight couple had no separate agendas. Edwards only concern was Bella. He had to take care of her no matter what and Bella only wanted to be with Edward no matter what. Of course there were obstacles, much in the 4 books caught me off guard, but Bella has a good head on her shoulders, and is a determined, do anything for her vampire love girl and Edward is a compassionate, kind, truly in love, out of this world, not of this world (haha) lover only for Bella.

Twilght's main characters have brought feelings to me that Anakin and Padme's story could not complete.

Indescribable??? Some here know exactly of what I speak. (Ami/MO2YP)
