Hello there all. Some of you must be saying, "Whoa, who's this?" Well I've been here for quite some time just haven't had anything to blog about. I've been meaning to do this one for quite some time now I just simply kept forgetting. So now I'm finally getting around to it.
May 19, 2005. A day I will never forgot. Or will I? Of course I remember watching the final installment into the Star Wars saga. I remember the aplause at simply the Lucas Film Ltd. logo. And I remember the movie. I think.
Of course I've gotten it on DVD and watched it several times again since then but something always bothered me. Something that they seemed to have changed at the end. But it was a while between viewings of the Theatrical version and the DVD release. So I figured it was just memory. But the more I thought about it the more it bugged me.
At the end when Obi-Wan disposes of Vader in that oh-so familar fashion and Vader rolls down to be burt to a crisp, Obi picks up Anakin's lightsaber. Now this is where I get confused. I could have swore that in the theatrical release after Obi-Wan picks up Ani's lightsaber he said something along the lines of, "Our lightsabers, crafted together. Made so similarly." Something like that. About their lightsabers being similar. Now in the DVD there is no such dialouge which first made me think.
What else made me ponder was that I remember reading something on here about that dialouge. There were complaints that their lightsabers had no similarity at all and it was a stretch for Lucas to attempt to make that connection between them.
I was so concerned because when I asked my friend who I saw the movie with whether he remembered that part he just shook his head and looked at me strangely.
So if someone could tell me whether I'm completely insane or that I'm right and have a good memory. Either one would be helpful.
