The Rhyme of Obi Wan
The order I've received is this: "Destroy the Sith, we must."
The thought of killing Anakin: it fills me with disgust.
I don't want me and Anakin at war with one another.
Many times he saved my life; he's almost like my brother.

"I will not kill Anakin!," I heartily protest.
'Send me, instead, to Sidious," to Yoda I suggest.
He thought I wasn't strong enough, and likely it is true,
especially considering I lost to Count Dooku.

I hid in Padme's ship; to Mustafar I hitched a ride.
She ran out to greet Anakin, but I remained inside.
"Obi Wan's been telling me you're Palpy's new apprentice."
When Padme understood at last, it truly was momentous.

I eavesdropped on the two of them, and once I heard enough,
I made my presence known, and that's when Anakin got rough.
He'd never really learned to keep his tetchiness in check.
"You brought him here to kill me!," then he grabbed her by the neck.

"Let her go!," I said, and then he dropped her to the ground.
This vicious act just served to prove his mind was quite unsound.
"If you're not with me, you're against me." That is what he said.
It's obvious his newfound powers went straight to his head.

I stand for democracy; I know what's right and just.
I don't want to fight Anakin, but I'll do what I must.
I ignite my lightsaber, and he ignites his, too.
The more we fought, the more reckless and angrier he grew.

You've no doubt seen the movie, so I'll make this story short.
Across a raging molten river we doggedly fought.
I jumped onto the high ground, and then Anakin I warned;
Of course he didn't listen, and my good advice he scorned.

He hurled himself toward me, and while he was in mid-flight,
I sliced his arm and legs off, putting him in quite a plight.
The lava soon got hold of him and caused him to ignite,
And he blazed like a lantern in the Mustafarian night.

He cried out in agony as his skin was charred.
When I saw him suffering, I took it really hard.
I didn't stay to see him die; I sadly went my way
And left him on the banks where he continued to flambee.

Very truly yours,
-Obi Wan Kenobi
