Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!
Last night a fellow poster suggested that I do an entry about myself, so here it is. I've done my best to provide facts which show that I'm quite an unconventional, if not outright eccentric, individual:
My name is
Tennill
e, but for short, people call me Tee. I became a fan of the saga when I was about 7 or 8 years old. ESB was in the theatres, and since it was a Day Camp outing, I saw it with about 40 other youngin's. From the way they complained, it seemed that I was the only one who truly enjoyed myself. That's OK...I've always been the odd one out, but it's only within the past 5 years that I've truly learned to revel in it.
Speaking of being different:
I don't necessarily enjoy parties...I prefer quiet evenings at home. However, if my friends absolutely require me to attend a certain festival, then of course I'll go. On a similar note, I don't really enjoy clubbing; I much prefer the calming atmosphere of the bookstore. I'm not a huge fan of Jazz, I much prefer Kingdom music and classical.
I'm a vegetarian, though not a vegan. One day about 14 years ago, I got tired of eating meat and decided to stop eating it then and there.
I consider myself to be a long-distance runner. I can run about 19 miles before I get tired, and even though I've never completed a full marathon, I've completed my fair share of half-marathons and 18-milers.
I never went to college because it would not have been able to take me where I wanted to go in life. I had the goal of going to missionary school, and of preaching the Word of God in foreign lands, and so ever since the age of 14, I'd been gearing myself up for that: I preached on an auxiliary scale for about two years before entering the full-time ministry at the age of 16. After seven years of full-time service, I had a serious drawback. I would have to be in very good health to be accepted to missionary school, but at the age of 23 I developed full-blown PJS (Peutz-Jaegers' Syndrome). It's a hereditary thing, but it seems to have skipped 20 or more generations because nobody else in my family has it. I've written a story which speaks about my experience with PJS.
Be warned that it is a very personal, very bizarre, and almost stomach-turning story. Coping With Peutz (July 3rd Entry)
Even though my plans of going to missionary school have been foiled, I have had the privilege of preaching in South America, Japan, and various areas throughout the United States, so I'm happy to count my blessings. Furthermore, I'm happy to say that I have a steady job which, fortunately, provides me with health benefits. Additionally, my salary is equal to, and in some cases greater than, the salaries of my friends who have college degrees. (I serve as a legal secretary.)
I recently received an email from a fellow poster who said I'm special because I'm a SW fan who is also a black female. I'm not sure if "special" is the word for it...I'd sooner say that I'm idiosyncratic, or just plain weird.
Anyway, I grabbed the digi-cam and snapped a of photo of myself so you people can know exactly who you're conversing with:

So, that's my story. Thank you for joining me, ladies and gentlemen. It's been wonderful having you.
*hugs and kisses*
-Tee
