Last year, DK released
Star Wars Blueprints: The Ultimate Collection. Retailing in the US for $19.99 ($21.99 in Canada); it's well worth the cost. The package contains detailed blueprints for Darth Vader's suit and lightsaber, droids C-3PO and R2-D2, various hand-held weapons, the
Millenium Falcon, and Death Star (Both of the Death Stars used essentially the same blueprints, with modifications being made to Death Star II.) The colored blueprints are well-illustrated by Chris Trevas and Chris Reiff. Ryder Windham provides the text. (There are some in-jokes. For instance, we learn that Artoo has a "Burtt acoustic signaller". Who knew?) The only real problem is what's missing: blueprints for star destroyers of various classes, rebel capital ships like frigates and Mon Cal cruisers, the
Tantive IV, Trade Federation battleships, and ships from the Clone Wars. In that sense, this isn't "the ultimate collection" by any means. But, you still get your money's worth. I highly recommend this for all collectors. Final rating: ***1/2 (out of a scale of 0-4 stars).
