I miss Underoos
Well, seeing how there are two more blog titles on the sw.com block called "Journal of the Whills" now I opted to change out my name for something more 'cheery' this time around. When I was asked to come up with my original blog title I thought it was somewhat witty and it might declare to fans my love for all things EU. Oh well, I've been unoriginal as far back as I can tell, what's new? ;) Maybe when I get tired of this title I'll switch it out again.

The inspiration for my new blog title actually comes from a bootleg General Grievous sticker given to me by the notorious 'Boba Bling' at Celebration III. It now resides on the cover to my sketch book where I doodle and design my Star Wars illustrations day and night. The sticker has actually inspired me to create a sketch of General Grievous slaughtering Jedi and clones in battle all the while shouting "Die Jedi, DIE!" at the top of his Duranium encased lung sacks. Maybe someday I'll have time to turn it into a full color piece.

With RotS finally upon us, the new title only seems apt as well. Plus the exclamation has that certain classic Hammer horror appeal (you know, the movies with Chris Lee and Peter Cushing before they were Count Dooku and Grand Moff Tarkin) and I'm always a big fat sucker for the horror movies.

Speaking of horror movies, I just recently checked out High Tension. I'm happy to report it's a solid, scary film in the vein of classic Italian horror auteur Dario Argento. There's the inevitable surprise plot twist in the film that (unfortunately) reads like a page from David Fincher's playbook which actually requires a huge amount of trust from the audience in order to work as a plausible scenario. But I still enjoyed it overall, even for the edited American release of the film it hardly pulled any punches on the old school violence reminiscent of my favorite 70's and 80's horror flicks from my youth.

Batman Begins is almost here, I'm rooting for Christian Bale though I know he'll be awesome. He was phenomenal in American Psycho, The Machinist and of course Reign of Fire (so was Matthew McC.). He's so perfect for this character. I've been a huge Bats buff my whole life, a passion that's only surpassed by Star Wars. In fact, I used to remember debating if I should wear my stealthy blue and grey Batman Underoos or my rough and tumble looking Boba Fett Underoos to bed some nights. I even had Yoda Underoos. I can't believe they actually made Yoda underoos.

Now if they only made a Jar Jar pair, I'd buy those for sure.
