The Spots VS. The Killer Robots - Attack!!!
After posting my last blog, one of the Killer Robots himself, Maximilian De Kill AKA "Max", got in touch with me and with his permission I'm sharing his email in this blog.

Be sure to check these guys out at their official website. You should also check out Abnormal Comics.com to witness more Killer Robots craziness. These guys are currently planning on appearing at Dragon*Con this summer so if you plan on going catch their show, you're in for treat (especially if you see Joseph Yellowfeather or Lobster Boy dancing among the groupies).

Here's the email from Max (keyboards, vocals, commander of the Killer Robot forces) -

Hello Joe!

This is Max from the Killer Robots! My friend just
forwarded me a link to your blog and your hilarious
write-up about the Gato Loco show... thanks a bunch!

It's always great to hear how people respond to the
show; a lot of stuff we miss since we're up onstage
concentrating on the instruments. I'm so glad you
guys had a fun time.

We had so much fun at Gato Loco and the Comic Con.
Can't wait to do it again, hopefully next year we'll
be able to get a bigger venue and a couple more
play-dates. Right now we are concentrating on the big
DragonCon over in Georgia; the actual comic convention
puts on a concert with different bands related to
science fiction and horror. Hopefully they're still
doing it again this year, we haven't head back from
the acceptance committee so we're keeping our fingers
crossed.

I hope you don't mind but I've already added the parts
of your blog to our website, with links to your site. If you
would like me to add or change anything, please let me know.

It was great to meet you, Chris, Randy
(and Jan, Tom, Doug and Justin) and
hopefully we'll all meet again soon.

Take care,

Max, Killer Robots!

Also, another highlight from that night out was checking out their opening band, The Spots. These guys were incredible! To hear them live you would think it would be impossible for three mere mortals to rock so loudly but they did and then some. Their sound was like a cross between the originators of heavy metal, Steppenwolf, and maybe Queens of the Stone Age with a little Clash thrown in. Max tells me they were just recently signed to a label. Download some of their mp3s in their music section at their website, The Spots Band.com. Keep your eyes peeled for these guys, I think we might be hearing more about them down the road.
