The Making of my CIV LE Print, The Phantom, FCBD & MCCC Cover Art
This weekend on Saturday May 5th I'll be signing at Comics 2 Cars in Florence, KY for Free Comic Book Day. I'll also be sketching for customers and selling my Star Wars and comic book artwork there. Appearing with me will be costumed members of the 501st Legion and comic book writer Beau Smith (Star Wars Tales, Guy Gardner: Warrior, Batman vs. Wildcat, Parts Unknown and many other titles). If you're in the area stop by the store and see us, say hi and pick up some free comic books from your favorite publishers.

Visit the FCBD website to find stores in your neighborhood participating for the event this weekend.

Later this month I'll be appearing at the Motor City Comic Con in Novi, Michigan on May 18th-20th. I also created the artwork for this show's program cover which everyone can get a preview of at the convention website or in my Myspace blog.

Other Star Wars guests at the show include Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Doug Wangler (Quinlan Vos), Justin Chung (Kai Justiss), artist Dave Dorman and the 501st and Rebel Legion.

I'll be drawing sketches, selling and signing my Star Wars, Star Trek, Spike, Angel and other comic book artwork at the show so if you plan on attending be sure to stop by my table and see what's in store or feel free to ask and have your program book autographed.

I recently completed new art for Moonstone Books' The Phantom #18 and you can catch an exclusive sneak preview of my cover art in my Myspace blog. This is one of my favorite covers I've illustrated for any comic book yet so I'm excited to see this one on the stands. I hope everyone enjoys it and picks up the issue when it ships later this Summer.

I've updated my Comics 101 feature at World Famous Comics.com (and at my official site) with a behind the scenes look of how I created my new Celebration IV Limited Edition Print commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. Head on over to view my art and design process from my photo reference, pencil art, color art in progress, to the final color print design for this new Star Wars artwork.

This print will be limited to 250 hand signed and numbered editions, 18" x 24" in size and will sell for $50 each. It will only be available for sale directly from me in the Art Show (located in the Main Exhibit Hall) at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles from May 24th - 28th.

I'm still currently taking a list of reserve requests for prints (limit 2 per person) prior to the show if you email me directly at joe@joecorroney.com or through my Myspace and type CELEBRATION 4 PRINT in the subject line. I will be accepting payment at the show. The artwork will be available for sale to all fans and everyone that attends the event and there will be *no limit* to how many copies you can purchase in person. I will be taking reserve requests up until May 22nd.

This reserve list is only meant for serious and interested fans and collectors (or their chosen representative) intent on purchasing the print from me on site at the show. The print will be held for you until pick up by the end of show time on Sunday, May 27th though I recommend pick up on Thursday if you would especially like a lower number edition. Due to Lucasfilm contract rules and regulations I cannot sell this limited edition print artwork before Celebration IV on May 24th or after the event on May 28th so don't miss your chance to own a rare and highly collectible art piece of Star Wars history.

For more information check out my Myspace blog or my News section at my official website.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing you at some of these events soon.

P.S. Oh yeah, and I'll be checking out Spider-Man 3 this weekend too of course :)
