Limerick Friday!
Padme caused quite a commotion
She cried enough to fill an ocean
And when she was drained
She meekly explained:
"I was told I should make emotion."

Though I must say this poem is great,
I do wonder what keeps you up late,
Far from being in bed,
You are blogging instead,
Are you digesting some matzah you ate?

While preparing to head off to bed,
I had to see what Stooge said.
I limerick for you,
Because nob did one too,
We're probably both wrong in the head.

I sense much sadness, fear and oddly romantic balcony scenes in this one.

Where the heck is he. Europe? For me(and I'm on the east coast) it still would have been 3:30 am.

I also stumbled across this late at night.

Hmmm... not only does this limerick have the proper rhyme and rhythm, it also has an actual punch line, and ties into the Star Wars universe with something other than a funny word.

You've got to stop letting quality work like this slide through your filters, Stooge. I'm disappointed.

Love the slash!

Just imagine the Senators from Gamor...

I sense much sadness, fear and oddly romantic balcony scenes in this one.

Hey-o!

But I like funny words. They sometimes sound like poopy.

You've got to stop letting quality work like this slide through your filters, Stooge.

Shan't happen again, promise!

It was two weeks before anyone could go into the Senate Chamber after one of the wookiee senators made a motion in his pod. Rodian curry and five hour debates on the taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems do not mix. Neither does sawdust and the result, as the janitorial team discovered to their considerable alarm.

I sat near the wookiee at tea;
It was a mistake, now I see;
His trou'les* abdom'nal
Were just phenom'nal
And everyone thought it was me!+

Padme caused quite a commotion
She cried enough to fill an ocean
And when she was drained
She meekly explained:
"I was told I should make emotion."

Lines 2 and 5 have one too many sylables.

Btw, happy 600th blog!**

If I had to choose, I'd go with number three.

What is activities of a U.S Senator?

This question has a ring of wonderfulness to it.

Guess I gotta get up earlier in the morning to beat him!!

Morning people! I'll never understand 'em. ;)

The usual once a week scandal, slander, the regular stuff.

Don't forget campaigning for reelection.

Women, you can always trust them to not hold their emotions at the senate door!

I do wonder whether they were crocodile tears...

ROOOOOOOoooooor!

I'm not gonna even pretend to understand that, but anything involving monsters on a toilet is alright by me.

I noticed a while ago that many of the best-known limericks don't follow a set structure. So I stopped trying to be exact. :p
