This week, someone in a Darth Vader costume
robbed an Illinois movie theater... incredibly, this is the least embarrassing thing to happen to Illinois all year.
Also in the Midwest, a
Clone Wars exhibit is opening at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis. Will it have as little educational content as the Harry Potter exhibit at Chicago's Museum of Science & Industry? Only time will tell!
Out in Denver, local
Star Wars fans
marched in the city's St. Patrick's Day parade, proving that you don't have to be drunk to dress up as a Stormtrooper... but it wouldn't hurt.
In New Zealand,
Jay Laga'aia has made a bid to be part of the live-action
Star Wars TV show... no word yet on whether George Lucas has accepted his proposal for
The New Adventures of Captain Typho.
Darth Vader and Princess Leia impersonators
recently appeared at a meeting of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Chewbacca also showed up -- well, they thought it was Chewbacca. Turns out it was just a homeless guy from Berkeley.
Finally in Seattle, a
Star Wars fan was
arrested for driving 110 mph to get home in time to win an eBay auction. So much for the old "You don't need to see my identification" trick...
They say the arrested fan was a 46 year-old male, but I think we all know who it
really was.
