Star Wars Joke-A-Day

Wednesday One-Liners
Cable network G4 will be broadcasting Lucasfilm's Star Wars panel from the San Diego Comic-Con. Of course, for the full effect, they recommend watching it with a bag of swag on your lap and having not showered for a week.

Following his cameo in the Star Trek movie, R2-D2 can now be seen in the Transformers sequel. Apparently, his power is that he can transform into a lazy in-joke.

Skywalker Trampolines are being recalled... don't know about the rest of you, but I know I was shocked when something named Skywalker turned out to be dangerous and unbalanced.

German scientists are trying to make Moisture Farming into a reality. Well, they already made Stormtroopers a reality, so why not?

Finally, it's been announced that Harrison Ford will be honored by the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Afterwards, he's slated to receive awards from the American Archeological Society and the Android Detectives of the Future Foundation.

Ouch! It's funny AND it recalls the HOLOCAUST!

I saw the R2/Transformers articles too. Some are saying that ILM is gong to "insert" him into every movie they do from now on. Hmmm....Artoo in Harry Potter? I can't imagine they'd do that....can I?! :p Hey, if nothing else it'll be fun to try and find him - kinda like "Where's Waldo!" :D

Are you sure this wasn't named after every ex girlfriend I've ever had?

I'll comment on the Harrison one:

Man, it must be nice to be an actor. I suppose if he had played a truck driver he would have made "Truck Driver of the Year" by now.

Finally, it's been announced that Harrison Ford will be honored by the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum.

Harrison Ford hasn't had the best record with flying:

ANH: Smuggled himself in compartments he used for smuggling.
ESB: His hyperdrive kept failing him.
Raiders of the Lost Ark: His getaway plane had a snake onboard, and Samuel L. Jackson couldn't help him.
ROTJ: Took a stolen Imperial shuttle to Endor
Temple of Doom: His getaway plane belonged to the guy he was trying to get away from, and he later crashed it somewhere in the Himalayas, then flew out of it using a lifeboat.
Last Crusade: Crashed a stolen escape/defense plane from a German Zeppelin (all right, the crash was Sean Connery's fault).

I ABSOLUTELY plan on watching the G4 Comic-Con coverage in a state of unrivalled funk, repellant to even my loved ones. And can I swap a bag of swag for some dog-eared issues of old school Bantha Tracks and a VHS copy of Howard the Duck? I'll hold them close while praying that Steve Sansweet makes a sequel announcement. (Ha!)

Skywalker Trampolines ...

So, this is how Luke :x got his "wings" . . . he started jumping to see how high he could go, decided he had to go higher, and took to piloting. :)

I may have to give that a try. ;)

And I'm giving up my drum lesson for the G4 telecast. My husband says he'll record it, but I want to experience it live. :)

Too soon?

Hmmm....Artoo in Harry Potter? I can't imagine they'd do that....can I?!

I'm a fan of both sagas, but I wouldn't quite care for the mix...

Are you sure this wasn't named after every ex girlfriend I've ever had?

Man, it must be nice to be an actor. I suppose if he had played a truck driver he would have made "Truck Driver of the Year" by now.

To be fair, he's actually a pilot in real life (and saved some lives a few years ago in his plane!), and advocates on their behalf all the time. My line was kinda cheap... but the article did compare him to Han!

Woo hoo!

:^O to the whole thing!

Last Crusade: Crashed a stolen escape/defense plane from a German Zeppelin (all right, the crash was Sean Connery's fault).

Wasn't there a scene where a plane meets a tunnel, too? Granted, he wasn't flying that one...

I'm still working on the blog roll ........

Lemme know what you come up with! Think avatars... :D

Totally! Hell, go with the DVD -- Howard's on DVD by now, right?

So, this is how Luke got his "wings" . . .

Did a bell ring?

I love destroyers. Is that weird for me to admit?

Oops. I messed up on that one. I didn't read the article. Didn't realize he had saved lives. Now I feel creepy.

By Bush standards, that's overqualification.

Harrison Ford hasn't had the best record with flying:

Don't forget, in Seven Days and Seven Nights he flies into a storm in the Hawaiian Islands and ends up crashing on the uninhabited island, only to run into drug smuggling pirates!
