A New Hope, if you look closely, you will see Chewie knock his head on a pair of clear geen things dangling from the
Falcon's...uh...something. Those would be Han's pair of lucky dice. No doubt this is another wink from George Lucas at the hot rod era, which created such coolio things.
These dice were immortalized in the card game with the card
Han's Dice: a not-so-coolio close-up of Han's lucky dice in putrid retro-lime. Still, a very useful card for this gamer since it allowed you to redraw a destiny--something I needed to do quite often.
Then fast-forward to 2002. My blue Chevrolet Cavalier (which I named "Leia" btw) was not yet a year old was in need of some tricking that I could afford. I wanted something that would be classic but unique to my person. I couldn't get a "SWCCG" licence plate because #1 World-ranked Steve Brentson had already gotten that from the State of Connecticut.
As I often do when I need such an order, I looked to my SWCCG collection for inspiration and came across the Han's Dice card. The idea was almost perfect except that I had no way to drill holes into a pair of dice. Always the MacGuyver, I improvised and to this day you will see the very same (and very sun-bleached) Han's Dice card hanging from my rearview mirror.
"Real slick" Bob Falfa might say...
