publishing update
Hi Folks,
I'm the author of the Making of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith and the Art of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. Hopefully, after you've seen the film, you'll want to read these two. I met a lot of fans at Celebration III who were buying the books, but waiting till after seeing the films to actually read them, cos there are a whole lot of spoilers in both of them.

If you have any questions or comments about the books, I'd love to hear it. Same goes for Scholastic's new series The Last of the Jedi, which I edit, and The Cinema of George Lucas, which was a big project. Also the DK books, and Star Wars Visionaries.

Right now, I've just finished working on a book with John Knoll, one of the two visual effects supervisors on Episode III. It's called Creating the Worlds of Star Wars--it'll be published by Abrams and comes out in fall 2005. It covers all six films, is more than 700 pages long and will have over 1,000 images! and talks about how visual effects work in relation to the sets, with a few asides. It'll also come with an incredibly cool CD, with VRs and videos that John put together.

We're also finishing up a book about the costumes of the prequel trilogy written by costume designer Trisha Biggar. This will be an unbelievably beautiful book--if I say so myself--cos the designers have all been knocking themselves out trying to produce the most extravagant book yet--particularly the deluxe edition.

Last night, I finally got to see the film with a real audience--which was great. I can't see this objectively anymore, but it's nice to see/hear people go nuts.

So let me know what you want to hear from me--and I'll try and keep you posted about upcoming books (but not the adult novels--that's Sue Rostoni's arena!).

All the best,
J. W. Rinzler
