How far are you willing to go for Star Wars?
I have been a devoted Star Wars fan for most of my life(I was about 9 years old when I saw ANH for the first time) and I would do just about anything to demonstrate my loyalty for George Lucas' epic space saga....well, anything except what Im about to tell you about.

In May of last year an interesting incident occured somewhere in Canada. To celebrate the release of ROTS in theaters, two fans(ages 17 and 20) decided to have a mock lightsaber duel. That's understandable, but how they did it isnt. They used flourescent light tubes and covered them in gasoline and some other chemical(i cannot remember what it was) and lit them on fire. Needless to say their improvised lightsabers exploded in their hands, and both "duelists" had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. The police there had no trouble ascertaining exactly what took place as the Jedi wanna-be's(as quoted in the paper I read) videotaped the entire incident as it happened. ?:|

Im confused here. At 20 years old you should be smart enough to know that gasoline and fire dont mix well. I understand they might be REALLY dedicated fans, but even the staunchest fan of Star Wars wont be that blinded by the love for the saga to forsake their personal safety for a few seconds on a camera with a lightshaft that is on fire. Where was the common sense here? I know that in today's world, common sense is uncommon.....hmmm, perhaps I just answered my own question, but how can someone be so stupid as to risk their lives in a immature act such as the one detailed above ? Also, how far would you be willing to go to show your love for GL's saga?
