I Have a Bad Feeling About This!

"Everything That Has Transpired......"
I know this has probably been blogged about before, but bear with me, and before I get into this, I just want to say this is only my OPINION. This has been on my mind for a while.

(Yeah, I do actually think of other things besides Anakin!:x )

Okay, here goes.

Whether the Jedi know it or not, and would certainly never admit to it, they were partially responsible for their own demise. But they were not consciously aware this was happening.

***Let me explain myself before you cast me to the wolves***

"Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design." How far back does that statement go? We all believed it to be about the battle on the Sanctuary moon of Endor. But did Palpatine mean it on a larger scale? Did he mean since the beginning of his life as a Sith Lord? Did he mean since before that as an apprentice when he killed his master in his sleep? The Jedi believed the Sith were extinct. They had no idea that a senator from Naboo would come to be their greatest enemy! Why would they?

A thought comes to mind, when Luke is asking Ben about the Force, he asks if it controls one's actions. Ben's response: "Partially" Perhaps it was the part of the Force that controlled the Jedi's actions that allowed Palpatine and the Dark Side to manipulate the Jedi.

Let's look at a few examples:

1. Qui-Gon knew the meeting between he and Anakin was not accidental. It was Obi-Wan's suggestion they land the Queen's transport on Tatooine for repairs because it was remote and not under Republic jurisdiction. Had they not stopped on Tatooine, the meeting between Qui-Gon and Anakin would never have taken place,

2. Although the Council was hesitant to let Qui-Gon train Anakin, Yoda agreed to let Obi-Wan train him. Yoda didn't want to see Obi-Wan become defiant like is master had sometimes been. Obi-Wan had told Qui-Gon that if he would follow the Jedi Code he would be on the Council.

3. The Jedi asked Anakin to protect Padmé. Little did the Jedi know that when that suggestion was made, they were playing right into Palpatine's hands. They even told Anakin to go to the Chancellor to try to persuade Padmé to go along with their little plan. If she had not gone along with it, the two would not have grown closer and ultimately married.

So I guess my question would be:

Was Palpatine the ultimate "Puppet Master"?

I know there will be comments for and against my theory, feel free to let me know what you think, but please, be nice. And remember, it's only my opinion!
