My
last entry displayed the lovely gifts sent to me by my wonderful blog friends

, now I want to show you how it all started.
This collection pales in comparison to the collections some of you have, but hey, it's mine, and I'm proud of it!
Due to limited space (which I hope to resolve one of these days) I had to display everything on the same shelf, and some of it I set out on the dining room table.
First up, we have my models. I worked on these about 25 or so years ago. I'm glad I found them when I did, because the glue is starting to dissolve, and everything is falling apart.
R2 & C-3PO (there are a few of R2's "spare parts" behind 3PO's leg.)
Millennium Falcon
Luke's Snowspeeder, complete with little
Luke and Dak
I also have an X-Wing
somewhere--I can't find it, and I'm afraid it's completely fallen apart!
These are
buttons I ordered from the Fan Club "store" from Bantha Tracks, the newsletter of the fan club at the time. 1978
And speaking of
Bantha Tracks........... This is the
letter the members of the Fan Club got when they were
trying to figure out what to call the newsletter.
This is a stack of
Lucasfilm Fan Club magazines, the predecessor to the Insider. Some of them are still in their "plain brown paper wrapper".
My Official Star Wars Fan Club
keychain
A
cup and bowl set from Empire Strikes Back
A
set of glasses from Coca Cola.
Some assorted
ticket stubs (come on, you know you saved them, too!)
A pair of Lucasfilm Fanclub
Patches
This is a
book cover I got when joined the fan club.
Looking back, I'm wondering where a kid got all the money to buy these things! I was one lucky little girl!
Two copies of the original
Star Wars novel--I had to buy a second one because I wore the first one out. It's being held together with masking tape.
12th Edition
16th Edition
The rest of the Original Trilogy in
paperback
The Empire Strikes Back in
hardback, also well read
In this
notebook are my
Topps trading cards. I have been collecting these from the
start.
This was my very FIRST Star Wars soundtrack from 1977. This, children, is known as an
8-track tape. I played this thing to death until the arrival of
cassette tapes.
And, of course, you can't forget the good old
vinyl record album. (I'm still trying to find my Original Star Wars soundtrack record. I can't find it!!

It wasn't with the rest of the records!--It's probably with that X-Wing model!)
These are my vinyl soundtracks, and "
The Story of Star Wars" Turn the record over!

and The Empire Strikes Back Story:
"The Adventures of Luke Skywalker".
Bonus soundtrack:
The Original Battlestar Galactica
This is a
birthday card my sister

gave me--the one with the yarn buns.
On the inside, if you can't read it,
it says, "Gotcha something I
knew you could use. I know you like the picture, But I think the inside is neat, too. (Who's lookin' at the inside?)"
Neat......the lingo of the times!
I also have three
Kleenex boxes, with cut-outs on the bottom that you can color yourself. Sorry, they were actually Puffs. But who cares when your nose is running?
And this is my wonderful
blanket I covered up with when I was cold, and sometimes when I just wanted to feel close to my heroes.
Wow, this is getting very long, and I'm tired from posting all the links, so I'll bring this to a close. I want to conclude with one of my most prized possessions:
An official
REVENGE of the Jedi patch. I wonder how many of these were sent out before GL decided to change the name? I am tickled to actually OWN one of these.
My next entry will include more audio and video memorabilia.
See you later,
GB
