The Clone Wars Movie and TV Show: Postponed, or Canceled?
While I am upset, I can't say I blame them.

But when LFL announced that they're "postponing the Clone Wars movie and TV show indefinitely," it does sound an awful lot like that means cancellation.

Nevertheless, what option do they have? With Mr. Lucas in the condition he's in and confined to his bed, I supposed it does make sense. And, truthfully, that should offer us hope that despite the undertone of LFL's statement, the Clone Wars CGI series should be returning as soon as possible.

All of that aside, here's hoping that Mr. Lucas makes a full recovery as soon as possible. In fact, this is sort of a chilling reminder that at some point, The Maker will pass on; what will become of Star Wars then? It'll be interesting to see who inherits the rights to dictate how the saga continues.

...That's all premature, of course. After all, Mr. Lucas's condition is likely to improve. But as long as I've been trivial, I guess I'll take the risk of being a little inappropriate, too: I did find it amusing, if not funny, that Rick McCallum was the go-to guy for the press, and the one making statements on Mr. Lucas's behalf. I mean, doesn't The Flanneled One have some sort of legal rep who should be handling PR at a time like this?

Regardless of who made the statement, I am a little surprised that Mr. Lucas's condition warrants postponement of all things Clone Wars. I mean, they've already got what, 3-4 episodes, plus the movie completed, right? You'd think they could release those, at least. And while I'm no doctor, I'd think there's at least the possibility Mr. Lucas would be better in time to continue the show and maybe even keep it on schedule. Of course, I am probably overlooking the long lead time that episodes of a CGI show would warrant.

And that about wraps it up, except for one last thing: April Fool's! (Yeah, I know I probably fooled very few of you... Feel free to post about your sharp wit and inability to be taken in. Let me know--did I get you or not?)

What you written was highly plausible, I didnt expect it coming at all. in England April Fools finished just over three hours ago, so it doesnt count hahaha :p.

But seriously you were highly believable and you certainly fooled me.

Heh. I actually came to the blogs to see what kind of 4/01 foolery might be going on here today.

Since I was on my guard for an April Fools, I wasn't quite fooled, but it was a very convincing entry. Thank goodness it's not true!

I as well. However, I had forgotten April Fools while I was reading your blog. I was suspicious and not too surprised to see this was a joke.

You had me for a second, but I couldn't believe that George Lucas would be seriously ill and I hadn't heard about it before reading it in a blog, which is when I realized it must be a gag. Well done.

I knew it was a joke, as I had just read Stooge's post and was in the skeptical mindset.
