Top Ten Species That Deserve Jedi
The list of Star Wars species is a pretty darn long one, made up of fan favorites and relative unknowns, those that seem to permeate the galaxy and those whose appearances have been very limited. But there are a number of species who have never made an appearance as a Jedi, Sith, or other Force-user. Some of these would be really fun to see holding a lightsaber. And, with the Star Wars: Clone Wars movie coming up, now would be an excellent time to hand some of these guys a lightsaber.

So, without further ado, a present the Top Ten Species Who Deserve Jedi:

10. Clawdite: The species of Zam Wesell. Because a shape-shifting Jedi would be awesome.

9. Ryn: These guys are pretty cool looking, so it would be nice if one made an appearance in a visual form, such as the comics, TV shows, or the upcoming movie. And, as a species that first shows up in the New Jedi Order series, an Old Republic Ryn Jedi would add some nice continuity between eras.

8. Lepus Carnivorous (Lepi): One of the first Expanded Universe species to be created, a Lepus Carnivorous Jedi would be fun, particularly as the Marvel comics gain more and more traction among fans.

7. Toydarian: A Jedi hovering at ground level, wings flapping, could be really cool. I wonder if he'd share Watto's 5 o'clock shdow?

6. Kitonak: Despite their odd-looking appearance, the species of Droopy McCool is known for an extreme patience and calm. It would be interesting to see how those traits manifested themselves under the Jedi Order.

5. Chevin: With their huge heads, Ephant Mon's species are pretty cool to look at. Seeing one in lightsaber combat could be cooler still.

4. Arcona: Since they've been around since the original Star Wars film, this is one species that truly deserves a Jedi.

3. Troig: A two-headed Jedi? How come no one's tried this yet?

2. Dug: Their unique arms-are-legs-and-vice-versa configuration would be really cool to see wielding a lightsaber.

1. Besalisk: A four-armed Jedi could be a lot of fun--maybe in Clone Wars, either the movie or the TV series, we can see one take on General Grievous? That'd be a cool fight! Plus, everyone loves Dexter Jettster--why not develop a few more prominent members of his species?

...So, how'd I do? Did I get you excited about some possibilities? Leave some species off the list that really should have made it? Or overlook that fact that a species or two here actually do have Jedi members? I'd love to hear from you!
