Yoda the Deciever?
In one of my recent blogs, The Jedi - Blind or just Ignorant , there came a debate as too wether Yoda knew about Palpatines actions amongst the Senate and the darkside or not. I saw hints that Yoda may have know in Episode II when Palpatine suggested that Padme be placed under the protection of the Jedi. Yoda regarded him with a frown, as if trying to find an alternate motive.

Now when you look at it, Yoda is the wisest master on the council. I believe that he was probably the only master on the council who had a vague idea the Sith still lived. I think Yoda saw Palpatine for what he really was - a master of manipulation. He decieved the Senate into giving him more and more power as the Clone Wars raged on. This is one of the many true traits of the Sith, or so it would seem. But yet none of the other Jedi noticed or seemed to really notice it.

One question that was raised in my blogs was coud Yoda have seen the full extent of the prophecy? At the end of TPM, Yoda told Obi-wan that he did not agree that Anakin should be trained, but the rest of the Council said he should. This is evidence that maybe he could see more of the prophecy than the other masters.

This would also mean that he would have seen the Jedi Purge. If so, he would have decieved his fellow Jedi by not warning them, thus betraying the Jedi ideals. Yoda had his hidden escape pod on Kashyyyk after the execution of Order 66, showing what could be some form or premeditation.

Now I am in no way suggesting that Yoda has any connection at all to the Sith. He is my favourite Jedi. But perhaps he saw that this was nescessary. The old order had become so mirred by arrogance that the maybe the darkside needed to win in order to eventually have a new Jedi Order rise from the ashes of the old one?

What does everyone else think? Did Yoda perhaps decieve the rest of the Order? If so,was it for the best? Pleeease don't hate me for it :(
