I admit, it's not the most original discussion (as far as Star Wars goes), but it turns out, I've never read any blogs on this topic...
As I said, I've narrowed this contest down to seven Sith Lords, all who have unique powers and accomplishments that the other doesn't. Those seven are...
Darth Sidious,
Darth Vader,
Darth Bane,
Darth Sion,
Darth Nihilus,
Darth Revan, and
Naga Sadow. I'll try my best to outline the reasons why I chose these. I plan to write an 8 part series on this topic. One blog for each Sith Lord, with the eighth blog being a conclusion.
Starting with...
Darth Sidious~Claiming the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith when he murdered Darth Plagueis, Darth Sidious was the most cunning and manipulative of all the Sith Lords out there without a doubt. He was able to control both the Galactic Senate and the Separtist movement at once, pulling the strings on both sides of the fence so that "Once more the Sith shall rule the galaxy" (I love how he says that). It was him who masterminded a brilliant plot to restore the Sith to power, and successfully earned the loyalty of the Senate, even as he abolished the Republic and declared himself Emperor. His manipulation of Anakin Skywalker throughout the prequels (and the fact that his mind powers were able to secure his reign from any treachery that Vader may have otherwise had) is also very impressive.
He was obviously a master lightsaber duelist, displayed in his duels with Mace Windu and Yoda (who I believe could have bested Palps under slightly different circumstances, but that's besides the point). He is obviously a master of telekinesis, and force lightning, as well as many other force powers, especially the "
sense" line of powers, as he could predict future events very well.
It's also important to note that he achieved immortality of a sort through the use of clone bodies.
Now for the negatives...
Although he became the highest achieving Sith Lord of all time, I believe that he actually separated himself from the title of Sith Lord (correct me if I'm wrong--I think I read it somewhere). Some may argue that he wiped out the Jedi Order, but besides for the fact that there were survivors, he wasn't the first one to initiate a Jedi Purge, and it wasn't his own power that wiped out the Jedi. He used his clones and storms to do the job for him, while guys like Sion and Nihilus did a good deal of the dirty work themselves. I think that his rule would've been very short lived had he not had so much security. Other Sith like Darth Bane had no protection at all besides for their lightsaber and their apprentice. It goes to show that a number of other Sith Lords could have accomplished a similar task had they lived under different circumstances.
I hope you enjoyed my first blog!!! I'll have part 2 coming today, so you might want to check it out if you liked this one.
Comments are always welcome!!! Thanks!!!
(If there are any other Sith Lords that you feel should be in the running, just say so. I'll include them in the series if I agree.)
