You could say that James-Michael Maume Alameda isn't your average Star Wars fan. Or, you could say that he is. The 29-year-old Star Wars fan won Tucson radio station KRQQ's "Greatest Star Wars Fan" Contest. But he didn't stop there. In 1999, Alameda accepted a $1,000 deal to legally change his name to "Obi-Wan Kenobi". Soon after, KRQQ offered "Kenobi" a full-time job as the station's promotions coordinator. "In June, I went to Legoland in San Diego for the 30th anniversary of 'Star Wars'," Kenobi said. "I freaked everybody out with my name." Talk about the capacity to play awesome practical jokes.

$1000 to legally change your name? That sounds a bit cheap to me.

As big a Star Wars fan as I am, I wouldn't change my name. I'm proud of it.
