Check your facts, Anakin
In Revenge of the Sith, when Anakin is expressing his anger at the Jedi Council because they didn't promote him to Master, he speaks a line that has stuck in my mind since I last saw the movie (about two months ago):

"Put me on the council and not make me a Master? It's never been done in the history of the Jedi Order!"

Wrong, Anakin. Very wrong. I'm actually surprised G.L. and his team didn't catch this.

As devoted Star Wars fans will remember from the Episode I Visual Dictionary and other such resources, Ki-Adi-Mundi actually served on the Council during the time of The Phantom Menace--at which point he was still a Jedi Knight.

Now, one could make the argument that Lucas knew about this and intended Anakin to be misinformed, thus adding to his image of being a hate-filled, confused young man. Personally, I think they were working so hard on getting this movie out on time that small things like this slipped through the cracks. Don't get me wrong, I loved the film; it's my favorite of all six (yes, I know, blasphemy). Plus, the editing and special effects were better than any other movie I've seen in a while (a while being since Episode II). But when you have all this pressure on the Lucasfilm folks to get the last movie of the saga out on time, there are things that get forgotten, simply because they aren't as glaring as a missing chroma keying job or an undelivered line.

I want to believe that it's just Anakin's rage clouding his clear judgment or his memory, but I'm not so sure. He manages to function quite well in every other way during this time (with the exception of getting a sound night's sleep). This leads me to believe that Palpatine's influence has not yet tainted him to the point of intellectual blindness.
