NY Jedi Academy Video on ABC
This Halloween, ABC did a little bit of coverage of the New York Jedi Academy. They interviewed a few people involved in the teaching and learning at the Academy, and they included some really authentic-looking combat sequences between Academy "pupils." One of the interviewees made a good point, though: they do make sure that no one gets hurt, because it's all for fun and not real combat.

Cool stufff. Here's an older video of NY Jedi practicing in the park, before they got such a large demand and became more organized. Seems like a fun crew! More people should do this in their own local areas.

Wooooooh! That is soooooo cool! I wanna go! I wanna go! :D
Thanks for sharing that video! I really wish that I could do that! To bad though, I live in Massachusetts and I probably couldn't travel all the way out there just to do that. We'll see, though, when I become a famous writer! :D

I don't know man, I heard alot of good things being said (and I'm sure the intent is there) but then I saw "Dr. Doom" and someone with little vamp wings fighting with a lightsaber and ya lost me. ?:| And I'm sure that's what the general public noticed as well.

I know some people from NYJedi and other similar groups are already part of Rebel Legion (I for one am glad to have them with us) but I think you'd do more to promote SW (in a positive way, which is an important distinction) by getting involved with RL rather then trying to go it alone. Just leave the "Dr. Doom" stuff at home.
