Top 10 Worst Portrayals of Technology in Film
So I know Harrison is talented and plays bright characters, but c'mon.... was this at all possible?

Nonetheless, here's a funny article chronicling the worst portrayals of technology in film.

I think it's pretty spot on, anything you can think of that tops this list?

Interesting - and I thought they were going to slam Ally Fox's rainforest refrigerator.

I'm so glad Jurrassic Park was on there. The entire time I was waiting for it, because that scene is so dumb.

And I wasn't expecting MI, but yeah, that part really was stupid.

Why can't movies ever show actual computer interfaces? Why must they always have wierd flashy inefficient GUIs.

I suppose a white screen with a lot of black letters don't have the same entertainment value as a stupid, pointless animation. I always thought Swordfish was a stupid film.

Everything mentioned seemed perfectly fine and believable to me. Although I was waiting for Michael Douglas' virtual computer filing system from Disclosure - that was just too far fetched, ditto for Decker's see-around-corners photos in Blade Runner.

Absolutely nothing wrong with infusing a psycho brain into a killer robot though (Robocop 2)

And I'm also glad to see Tron wasn't mentioned.

My top vote would've gone to Independence Day. I bet whoever was the IT buyer for those aliens thought he was being pretty damn smart using Apple-compatible computers because all of those Earthlings were pwned by Emperor Bill Gates' Windows. But alas, Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum were Macheads too and managed to hack into the aliens' intergalactic computers on their Apple laptops! D'oh!

It wouldnt open for me, but I have to say that Enemy of the State was one of the worst. I used to work with the NSA while I was in the navy, and the technology just does NOT work like that, which would be fine if it were promoted as a science fiction movie. Unfortunately, sometihng like 90% of america thinks we have technology beyond that film, which we simply don't. No wonder they are confused why we haven't found Bin Ladin yet. They think all he has to do is look up in the sky and we have him.

At least the Jurassic Park GUI was real---its the Silicon Graphics FSN, running off IRIX. Its based on UNIX, but Lex was still technically wrong in her exclamation...

MissPadme beat me to it, but...

I really can't believe Independance Day is not on this list! :O It should be Number 1.

Seriously, uploading a computer virus to the alien mothership's operating system...

Hmm, the Jurassic Park UNIX thing should be number one.
