I just saw Episode I recently (I think the last time I watched it was a couple months before Episode III) and wondered about the secene at the dinner table, specifically when Anakin tells Qui-Gon about his dream of being a Jedi Knight and freeing all the slaves.
Obviously, the movies don't show this. So what happened to the slavery on Tatooine? Did it continue, or was it eventually abolished?
I was also thinking perhaps Anakin fulfilled this dream as Darth Vader, but it is very doubtful that he would ever step foot on his homeworld due to the fact of the horrible memories.
So then I thought that maybe Jabba the Hutt's death could have been the cataylst towards the freedom of the slaves. The Hutts were, after all, in charge for the most part on Tatooine. And it would be fitting for Leia, one of Anakin's offspring, to carry out his vision he once had many years before.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
