I noticed these words scribbled on the wall of my cell and wondered what they meant. I believe another inmate wrote it with a very crude instrument, but I digress...
War! The Republic is crumbling under attacks by the ruthless Sith Lord, Count Dooku. There are heroes on both sides. Evil is everywhere.
We all know the rest, but this introduction is very intriguing - "
There are heroes on both sides." What does this truly mean? There are 2 sides: the Republic and the CIS. But, as far as I know, there are heroes only one side - the Republic. The Jedi are heroes that stand out the most, even Obi-Wan recognizes Anakin as a hero. But heroes on the side of the Separatists? Where and who are they? Let's see: we have Nute Gunray,
Poggle the Lesser, Tyranus, Fett,
Wat Tambor, Grievous, and a slew of other
CIS members, none of which shouts hero to me. I've thought about this many times over but could not create a conceivable enough idea, one that not only I but everyone will accept.
Could it be that since they didn't agree with the ways/views of the Republic, they became the CIS and considered themselves heroes for taking a stand against the Republic? Or did they consider Dooku a hero for leading this movement? He brought them together as the Separatists and ultimately convinced hundreds of systems to join his cause. I guess that if you were a member of the CIS he would be the hero, of course from a certain point of view. Or was it Poggle the Lesser? He allowed the 1st CIS meeting to convene on Geonosis, where all of those droids were created for their army. His people also oversaw the creation of the Death Star. Again a hero for the CIS but from a certain point of view. You can point out any member of the CIS, emphasize what they contributed and call them heroes, but they really weren't. So, I'm back to point A - heroes on both sides, but who on the side of the Separatists?
I really don't have an answer so I pose this question to my SW brethren and sisteren. Any/all comments are most welcome as always.
