As a show itself, the clone wars cartoon is great. But if it is meant to be part of the SW timeline, there are a couple of problems that don't go along with the rest of the EU.
1. The number of Gunships on Muunilist- There seem to be hundreds and hundreds of gunships for just one battle. In AOTC, there were only SIX on Geonosis. Same thing in other battles. It seems strange that there were so many.
2. Durge is dead?- In chapter 9, they make it seem as if Durge is gone for good. The music might show that it isn't over, but the scene itself implies that he is dead. He lives, and continues to be a powerful enemy of the republic. That is, until he is killed by Anakin.
3. Mace and the Droid Army- This is one of the more popular discussion topics. If Mace could take on all those droids on Dantooine without his lightsaber, then why did so many Jedi die on Geonosis? The whole thing just seems
very exaggerated. And what was with the spinning in the air?
4. Lots of Purple Crystals?- Purple crystals are supposed to be harder to find than blue or gree. On Ilum, there are plenty. Crystals that are purple, orange, yellow, and others are not usually found on Ilum.
5. Barriss a Knight? Already?- Maybe I'm wrong and this took place after Barriss's adventure on Drongar. In that case, this makes sense. If not, then it is a continuity error.
6. Asajj dead?- Same thing as Durge. They make it look as if she's dead. They don't say it, but again, it seems to be implied. Again, she survived, and is alive and well months after the fight on Yavin 4. It's when she fights Anakin on Coruscant that he gets the scar.
7. K'Kruhk is dead- This is said in the chapter, and they only rescue Shaak Ti and Aayla Secura. K'Kruhk survived too. Because the creators of Clone Wars didn't look and see he didn't die, the explanation of "He was in a healing trance which is why it wasn't detected that he was alive" story had to be created. K'Kruhk fights months later on Saleucami.
8. The Trip to Nelvaan- When was there time for this to happen? Didn't Anakin and Obi-Wan go on a mission to Tythe after their mission on Cato Neimoidia? This Nelvaan thing was stuck right in the same place as the Tythe mission. It has been said that the Nelvaan mission may have taken place earlier than it's showed in the cartoon.
9. The entire invasion of Coruscant- I read Labyrinth of Evil, and I thought that the story was much more realistic. It seemed to be that LOE was the official source. So...First, the role of Shaak Ti. In the cartoon, they made her look like she was invincible and took on the entire mission alone. I'm not saying she couldn't have, but she did have Stass Allie with her when she went to the chancellors office. Together, they got him out of the office on a maglev train. On a train, they met up with Mace Windu and Kit Fisto. There was a battle on the train between the Jedi and Grievous. Mace was there the whole time, not flying purple starfighters and ripping apart Vulture droids in the air. It was also mentioned that Pablo-Jill, Bultar Swan, and Agen Kolar participated in the battle. Roron Corobb and Foul Moudama do come into the story, but not alone. They are paired with a human Jedi and a Twi'lek Jedi. All four are killed, and the Chancellor is kidnapped like in the cartoon. When Shaak Ti is tied up, Mace and Stass Allie find her, not just Mace. No mention of Saesee Tiin in there, but I did think that the way he flew into space in the cartoon was very cool. Could it have happened? I'm not sure.
This all may sound like me being a continuity freak and looking at all the small details, but when many small stories are just part of one larger story, they should all fit with what's already been established.
