The Star Wars Films on Next Gen Disc formats
Hey everybody! This is my first blog, and I've been wondering when we'll see the entire Star Wars saga on UMD and Blu-Ray.

But Master Obi-Wan? We haven't even seen REVENGE OF THE SITH on DVD yet, and you're already waiting for the Blu-Ray version?

Well, yeah.

See, the thing is, it took so long to get Phantom Menace and the Original Trilogy on DVD, I'd like to be the first to tell Lucasfilm, "I WANT STAR WARS IN HD!"

I have an HDTV. I spent a lot of money on my HDTV. And my favorite thing to watch is Star Wars. So it just makes sense that I'd want to see the Star Wars films in their HiDef glory.

Now granted, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray won't hit the market til next year. And it'll be another year or two before one of the becomes the widely accepted HD Disc format. But if its going to be 2007 or 2008 until there's an accepted HiDef format, I don't wanna wait until 2011 to get the Star Wars saga in HD. So please, Mr. Lucas, do fast track a hi-def version. Fox has joined the Blu-Ray format, and I can pretty much guarantee that if there's a hi-definition version of the Star Wars movies, people will buy them, no matter what format. In fact, putting Star Wars on Blu-Ray could actually tip the balance of the entire format war!

In the meantime, though, what about the Star Wars flicks on the UMD discs for the PSP system? I love the idea of carrying the Star Wars series in my pocket!
